Our goal is to highlight the outstanding effort and the high quality of the workmanship accomplished by the homebuilders. Every year, Les Faucheurs de Marguerites du Québec present a contest similar to, but at a much smaller scale, EAA's Sun'n Fun in Lakeland or Airventure in Oshkosh. The Lucien Beaulieu Plans Built winner Award and as many as 12 Daisy Medals are presented to the winners in as many categories.
This contest starts early on Saturday morning and ends at 12:00 pm on Sunday. Winners are announced by mid afternoon on Sunday during a special presentation of the Medals. Pictures are taken for publication in magazines to honour them even more. Winners that have left before the presentation will receive their prize by mail. As soon as you get to the event, go and register yourself and your aircraft under the yellow tent. It is free and you can only win attention by doing it.

Rules
Les Faucheurs de Marguerites du Québec Annual Homebuilt Aircraft Contest
Aircrafts Categories for the Contest :
Amateur built : All light aircraft built by an amateur. Professional builders are not allowed in this category.
Plans built : Aircrafts that are built from scratch or from plans. Three Daisy Medals are presented for the best in this category. The number one winner will also be honoured of the Lucien Beaulieu Trophee. This honour can only be given once to a C-G or a C-F aircraft builder.
Kit : Aircraft that is built from a kit. Three Daisy Medals are distributed in this category also. (C-G or C-F)
Restoration : All Manufactured light aircrafts, more than 25 years old, that have been restored by the owner are allowed. One Daisy Medal is available for the three following classes: Antique : All aircrafts built before 1946. Classic : All aircrafts built between 1946 and 1955. Contemporary : All aircrafts built between 1956 and 1978. Ultra-lights : All advanced or basic ultra-lights that are C-I registered.
Professional Construction : All aircrafts designed or built by a professional builder or a company.
To participate :
All you have to do is come with your aircraft and register under the yellow tent at no cost. You are asked to fill out a form so we can better evaluate the aircraft and easily send you the prize by mail in case you win. Registration is allowed from 8 :00 am to 16 :00 pm on Saturday and from 8 :00 am to 12 :00 pm on Sunday. We will do our best to judge your airplane within 2 hours after your registration. Contest winners will be disclosed before 15 :00 pm on Sunday afternoon.
Judging methodology :
A team of 7 volunteers will judge the registered aircrafts during the event. They report to a Judge in Chief. Two judges will be appointed to each aircraft entered in the contest and the sum of the points will be entered in the summary table.
Note : Judges are not allowed to open any airplane compartment without your authorisation. If you are around when they are judging your plane you can ease their work by opening the cowling and cabin doors to show them the firewall forward mechanics and the interior of the cabin.
Evaluation criterias :
- General appearance : 30 points
- Workmanship : 40 points
- Maintenance status : 30 points

Our judges
Our judges are experienced builders and/or professional aircraft mechanics. A judge in chief manages and coordinates the team during the event. A training is given to the team to make sure they all understand the rules as they are described in our official paper.
All the judges are specificaly identified during the event so aircraft owners clearly identify them when they are close to the aircrafts. The judges are not allowed to open any aircraft compartment or doors and/or touch any sensible aircraft elements.
Each registered aircraft will be visited by at least two judges. Judges are assigned at random. All recreational aircraft associations are welcome to be part of the team.
